Valentine’s Song

Little hearts

And paper flowers,

Express my love,

At every hour.

In the park

And arm in arm

We stroll serenly,

Till evening’s charm.

The sunset’s tint,

Of pink hues

Make the day’s end,

One to choose.

And if love is

A foolish thing,

Then I would want

A song to sing.

A song of peace

And happiness

That listeners would

Surely feel blessed.

So, lend a heart

And an ear besides,

And try not to think

Of woe-betides.

Life is too short,

And goes by too fast,

Remember fondly the loves

From the past.

Today’s happiness

Abounds with care,

And my love for you,

Fits like a pair.

And so, I say

Things are good

And so are we

As right it should.

So, with little hearts

And paper flowers,

I express my love

Through all the hours.

Valentine’s Day is more than just romantic love. There is family-love, and friend-love, and fur-love, as well as, self-love. It is important to open your hearts to the love that surrounds you every day. The Great Spirit loves you, too, showing its Great Love through the sunrises and the sunsets of plain-everyday-type-days. Love is also in the birds as they find their mates and build their nests for their soon-to-be young ones. And as the snow caps melt from a cold winter, the fresh young shoots of new little plants start to make an appearance in amongst the branches and twigs left over from last year. Yes Nature is full of love. I am so grateful! May you feel blessed be Life’s Grace.

Treasure Hunt

The search for

Sunken treasure,

Made up of

Valuable gold coins,

Precious diamonds,

And glittery jewels,

Brings one to

Ancient maps

Which represent

The many voyages

Of Mighty Schooners

And pirate ships.

So, too

Does the

Hidden resting place

Of great chests

Be 10 paces

From the tree

And be marked

By an

“X”.

Only the most

Crafty

Can decipher

The code

And claim

Riches

Of times gone by.

The treasures of poetry include making my heart sing, and making my mind dream. People need dreams, music, and poetry to evolve into light-focused beings. Without these influences, I know I am not happy, and no one wants that. I hope that poetry touches you this week and that it makes you a happier person. Feel the joy of being alive and try to pass it on. Treasures abound for all of us!

Haiku

Smoke curls skyward bound.

Red brick chimney reaches up.

Warm feet by fireplace.

Each poem is written by myself unless otherwise noted. Every picture has also been taken by me, on my walks around Port Coquitlam.

Spring will be here soon, I promise…

For You

If I were to give you

A daisy,

You could

Make a wish

Then pluck

The petals

And find that

It’s true,

I love you!

Poetry always makes me happy, especially when I can share it with others. Life can be one poetic experience that maybe otherwise wouldn’t be expressed. There are many ways to illustrate a picture, and words make it all make sense.
