Colors of Life

These are the colors:

Green as the growing grass,

Blue as the sky above,

Red as the rose’s blush,

Pink as the sun’s first light at dawn,

Yellow as the buttercup’s brass,

Orange as the fruity splash,

Purple as the orchid’s bloom,

Rusty as the camouflaged coat,

Black as technology’s image,

White as your smile’s touch:

Colors that make my world go round.

Car Out of Control

What’s stopping the car?!

Hope it won’t get too far.

The parking brakes not on,

That’s what’s wrong!

You tried to pull it up

Without any luck,

And now it will roll

As far as the pole,

Which will act as a brake

In the moment it takes

For it to roll down the hill;

The movement will be still.

And you watch in disbelief,

And try to hold your grief,

As the car is munched

With quite a loud CRUNCH!

But no need to worry,

You just need to say “Sorry”,

Because this circumstance

Is covered by insurance.

Busy Little Black Ant

Busy little black ant under your heavy load,

Where does your steady trail take you?

The tree’s roots are where your family lives.

Colony teamwork has built a network of

Winding tunnels and gaping miniature caverns

Far beneath the ground.

There, you raise little rice-like eggs

That are the next generation’s

Diligent members of the ant community.

I watch and learn

As you go about busy errands

Oblivious to the giant world about you,

Your empire rules.

An Encouragement Poem

Believe in yourself

You know that you can.

Things that you do

Are part of the plan.

Spirit supports you

And wants you to be

Successful in life

And forever free.

Don’t make limits

There are many things to try

As you do new things

You wave the old good-bye.

Fresh and new

You let new things thru

And life gets better:

To yourself be true.

Get encouragement here

Cause your life can shine

As you take a chance

And start crossing the lines.

A Valentine’s Wish

A Valentine’s wish

Is sealed with a kiss.

Saying “I love you”

Is the thing to do,

As the heart gives a jump

And starts to really thump

When those three little words

Are playfully heard.

Sincerity drips

From honest lips

And a vigorous hug

Causes heartstrings to tug.

Valentine’s day is for all

And so lovers hear the call:

To make the day great

Is never too late.

Valentine’s Day

Is here to stay

And will always find a way

To let the people play,

Cause a Valentine’s wish

Is sealed with a kiss

And at the end of it all

We all hear the call.

Nothing goes together better than

Valentine’s Day and Poetry…
