Time’s Flight

Why does time,

Like a little bird,

Sit on a fencepost

Singing its little song?

Then taking wing

It flits

From branch to branch

As it makes its nest

High in the tree.

Like the little bird

As it makes its way

Through weather unkind

To greet springtime

With its melodious songs

Year after year,

Time shows

That things carry on

Despite the world’s condition.

It’s amazing that even tho man’s world grows and changes everyday, the wildlife around flourishes anyway. Life carries on despite change in the environment. It is very humbling to realize that mankind is really just another animal: supposedly smarter, but just as instinctual. We need food, shelter, and love, just as any other creature does. Mother Nature is not picky when it comes to survival of the fittest. The strong will survive. Humans? We are dumb to think we can outwit her. Let us be happy, healthy, and strong, but let us also respect all the life on Earth as we change our surroundings to suit our needs. Sustainable thinking is how we, the stewards of the Earth, can make sure future generations enjoy the planets bounty.
