Missing You

Missing you

Is like missing a shoe

I’m not very sunny

When I’m walking kinda funny.

Missing you

And all the things you do

Makes me feel sad

And also very bad.

Missing you

Is a day very blue

Is it you I am missing?

Or only the kissing.

Missing you

I’m resigned it’s true.

It would only be fair

To sometimes be there.

Missing you

And the ghost you threw,

Reminds me of the past,

Will it ever last?

Everyone has someone they care about. Covid has limited the amount of time we can spent with people. Some people we have not seen since the pandemic started. When we miss someone, it can feel like we are cut off of their presence. That is why I have come to appreciate the telephone and zoom calls. With all the time I have been isolated, I have reached out to people who might also be feeling alone. I wonder how people in previous epidemics have managed. They came from a world with no telephones and no internet. We are very spoiled by technology. I am grateful for it though. It has made life bearable in these lonely times. The human being is very resiliant. We can adjust to almost anything. Change is scary sometimes, but it often creates new ways of doing things that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. I hope that you have reached out to others. Your mental health could depend on it!
