In Step With my Shoes

Trusty runners

Fit my feet

And step with me

As I walk

Thru life.

The soles are worn

But they still have grip

And don’t slip

Even when the weather’s wet.

The shoes wrap my feet

In comfort and

Tiny grits and gravels

Cannot get to my toes

Because

My shoe coverings

Protect me from

Little irritants.

My shoes lead the way

And the path I walk

Will be straight and forward

And evenly paced

With each step I take,

Thanks to my shoes.
